Federal Health Reform Resources - Updated Sept. 2, 2010 09/02/2010
The GMCC is committed to providing members with substantive, timely information on the new federal health care changes and the impact on business. Some changes go into effect immediately, while other more dramatic changes, like insurance exchanges, may not occur until 2014.   
 
There are still many unanswered questions about the substance and implementation of the new law. We’ll continue to update this page as more information is available and stay tuned for upcoming programs and events on this topic.

GMCC member Michael Best & Friedrich, LLP, has issued several briefs on the health care changes, including:

A new tax credit is now available to small businesses that offer health insurance to their employees.  The Internal Revenue Service has a fact sheet that covers some of the questions related to the credit and how businesses can qualify.

After asking Chamber members for their questions about federal health care legislation this spring 2010, the GMCC brought together a panel of industry experts to answer your questions at the Chamber Café on Wednesday, August 4.

Held at Edgewood College’s west side campus, the Chamber Café welcomed Tim Byrne, Vice President of M3 Insurance Solutions for Business, Michael Heifetz, Vice President for Government Affairs for Dean and SSM Healthcare for Wisconsin, and Barbara J. Zabawa, Attorney at Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek. The panel was moderated by Ginny Gilbert, CEO of Gilbert Cost Control Consultants, Corp.
