Public Policy

Advocating for Your Business

Representing 1,600 member businesses, the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce promotes entrepreneurship and policy initiatives that attract and retain jobs to foster a competitive economic climate and high quality of life for all residents.

Responsible, sound public policy can only be achieved when all voices are heard.  As a credible voice for the greater Madison business community, we monitor regional government activity to ensure legislative proposals are considering the impact on employers and employees within the region.  When an issue pertinent to business is identified, we move into education mode, providing our members, elected officials and the general public with the information and perspective necessary to make well-informed policy decisions.

Part of our education efforts include keeping an updated website.  It is here that you can find the latest on GMCC positions and news relevant to business.

What's more, your GMCC membership grants you access to special members-only content.

At election time, log on often to see:

  • candidate positions on business-related issues
  • upcoming events and debates
  • relevant articles
  • information about our endorsements.

You’ll also have exclusive access to background about important public affairs and business issues. Our goal is to provide the information you and your employees need to stay engaged on the issues that matter most to your business.

If you don’t immediately find what you’re looking for, please send us an e-mail or call Director of Public Policy Kevin Little at (608) 443-1949.
