How do I log into the "Members Only" section and information of the new Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce (GMCC) website?

The main contact of each GMCC member business has been issued a login and password for this section. Your login is the main contact's e-mail address and a generic password was issued that this main contact has the ability to change and update.

If you are not the main contact of your company, you will need to obtain this login and password from your main contact to access this information. If you are the main contact, the GMCC recommends that each GMCC member business use one common login e-mail address and password for their company to access this information for all employees instead of an individual's e-mail address.

A common e-mail address such as "info@yourcompanyname.com" and a generic password would allow all of a company's employees to access this GMCC information. The "Members Only" information does not contain any billing information or other information that would need to be security-protected.

If you would like to change your login and password to a more common company-wide login and password, please contact GMCC Communications and Marketing Manager Jessica Burda at 608-443-1952.

How do I register for a GMCC program or event?

Click on the Program and Events tab of the GMCC website, then on the first link for the GMCC Events Calendar. Find the event that you would like to attend and click on it. Then scroll down and click on register.

Why do I need a separate login and password for registering for events? Why do I need to login a second time if I have already logged in to the "Members Only" section?

The GMCC values your membership and wants to ensure that all member information related to billing and credit card information is secure. Our GMCC membership system that tracks event registration requires a second login and password as an added layer of security.

This information is completely separate in our systems from our website's "Members Only" news and information. Due to this enhanced layer of security to protect your information, we require a second login and password. Additionally, this login and password is distinct for each individual GMCC member business employee who attends events in contrast to our "Members Only" web pages where we recommend each company use a common login and password among all employees.

If you have any questions related to registering for a GMCC program or event, please contact GMCC Program and Events Manager Amy Torgeson at 608-443-1954.

Can I still register online if I don't pay by credit card?

Yes, when you click to register for the event under the checkout in the payment section under the payment method, scroll down to Invoice Me, then click Next, then click Purchase. Print this page and send it in with your payment to:

Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce
Name of the Event
615 East Washington Ave., P.O. Box 71
Madison, WI 53701-0071

How do I know if I am registered for an event?

After you click Purchase, you will receive an e-mail indicating what events you registered for. If you do not receive an e-mail, you are not registered.

If you have any questions related to registering for a GMCC program or event, please contact GMCC Program and Events Manager Amy Torgeson at 608-443-1954.

Is the GMCC a state-run organization?

Which employees of a company's GMCC membership are included?

What is the GMCC's relationship with Thrive? How is the work of the GMCC or Thrive different from the Greater Madison Convention and Visitors Bureau (GMCVB)?

The Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce and Thrive - the collaborative economic development enterprise for the eight-county Madison Region - are two distinct separate organizations with separate Boards, full-time staffs and missions.

Jennifer Alexander is President of both of these organizations and they share office space at the GMCC building at 615 East Washington Avenue in Madison, Wis.

The GMCC encourages our members and the general public to learn more about Thrive at www.thrivehere.org.

In addition to the GMCC and Thrive, the Greater Madison Convention and Visitors Bureau (GMCVB), Downtown Madison Inc. (DMI), and the Madison Central Business Improvement District (BID) also call the Chamber building home. The GMCC is proud to share our building with these other great organizations that help make Madison and our region a great place to live, work, play and do business.

The GMCVB is the greater Madison area's official destination marketing organization. The GMCVB is responsible for attracting new destination events to the community, as well as providing service and support to existing and repeat events, and providing comprehensive information to visitors to the area. Learn more about the GMCVB at visitmadison.com.

DMI is committed to making the central city of Madison a united, vibrant, economically strong and socially healthy community. Accomplishing this mission will bring more people downtown to live, work, shop and recreate. The work of DMI ensures the health and vitality of downtown Madison through advocacy, member programs and involvement in all issues affecting the central city. Learn more about DMI at downtownmadison.org.

The BID is a City of Madison assessment district encompassing State Street (from Park Street to the Capitol Square) and the Capitol Square area (the Square plus most 100 block streets or "spokes" off the Square) and works to market the district as a whole, create a welcoming downtown environment, and further community relations.
